David has joined our IT helpdesk and counts himself fortunate to be able to switch from a career in Property Management and follow his dream with a career in IT.

David counts himself extremely fortunate to be able to switch from a career in Property Management and follow his dream with a career in IT.

David Rowbottom is the latest addition to our growing IT helpdesk.

As a Property Manager he dealt with issues raised by flat owners, planning major works projects and ensuring relevant legislation is adhered to.

As an IT Support operative, whilst the specific issues and planning have changed, the broad feel of the role is very similar, with a healthy mix of customer service, problem solving, and technical knowledge.

David says, “I was fortunate enough to speak to Russ McKenzie (Managing Director at nTrust) and it became clear that our values are aligned – excellent customer service and a great team, is at the core of any business.”

Finding a local IT company was also important to David.

Commuting on a train to London has never appealed to me – and even less so during Covid. Having a short commute opens up a number of opportunities; not least being home quickly after work to spend time with my family.”

To make the career change, David acquired CompTIA A+ certification, which covers software and hardware maintenance and attended night classes at Nescot College to enhance his understanding of Networking.

Every member of the nTrust team has the opportunity to develop and acquire new skills. David is currently working towards CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Cloud+ ad Microsoft Azure Administrator Associate.
