In the course of running our business, we meet some awesome people who do a lot of good.
Two charities that we’ve known for a long time are Stripey Stork and GUTS and we like to actively support them in any way we can.
Stripey Stork was started by a group of mums in 2013, who wanted to see the items their babies and children no longer needed re-used in the local community. They collect donations of babies and children’s toys, clothes and other essential items. After checking they meet current UK safety standards, they rehome these items with local families experiencing hardship.
GUTS raises money to support projects with the aim to improve bowel cancer survival rates. Current projects include:
- The Colorectal Cancer Family Clinic, situated within the Royal Surrey NHS Trust, which provides essential guidance and screening services to individuals with a heightened susceptibility to bowel cancer.
- Funding essential equipment and facilities at the Royal Surrey, to enhance patient care and treatment for those battling bowel cancer.
- Grants to support innovative research endeavours focused on advancing early detection methods and improved treatment approaches for bowel cancer.
- Raising awareness about bowel cancer, equipping people with the knowledge to reduce their personal risk of developing this disease.
nTrust teams battle it out at the Stipey Stork Quiz Night
It was a serious head to head on all things general knowledge, but there was much laughter too.
Two nTrust teams fiercely battled it out to gain the most points at Stripey Stork’s Quiz Night held at Reigate Manor Hotel.
It was a close run competition and in the end just one point in it. Even though neither team was the outright quiz winner, a great evening was had by all and Reigate Manor was delighted to present a cheque for £1865 to Stripey Stork.
nTrust supporting GUTS
Russ McKenzie, the Managing Director of nTrust, crossed paths with Nerissa Deeks, Marketing & Fundraising Manager at GUTS, whilst networking.
As time went by, their acquaintance grew stronger, and Russ became familiar with the remarkable endeavours undertaken by the charity GUTS in their fight against bowel cancer. Supporting this cause became a priority for nTrust, and we regularly participate in their fundraising efforts.
The dedication and impact of GUTS deeply resonated with the nTrust team, and their efforts did not go unnoticed. Recently, Russ was handed a letter, elegantly encased in a beautiful envelope. To his delight, the letter contained a heartfelt testimonial, expressing Nerissa’s profound appreciation for nTrust’s assistance and support.
The kind words in the letter reaffirmed the mutual admiration and respect between nTrust and GUTS, reinforcing our commitment to continue supporting the charity’s noble cause.
